Rebecca Baruch is a writer-director whose storytelling abilities have led her to opportunities in Toronto, London, New York and Los Angeles working for both small production companies and large studios in the entertainment industry.
Leaning towards dramatic YA-centric stories, Rebecca’s work ranges from magical realism to dystopian fantasy, all with a touch of humor and empathy, utilizing vibrant colors to highlight her voice through her visual style. Rebecca’s creative works and writings span a variety of media including film (features and shorts), television, novels and short stories.
Canadian-born, Rebecca graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a B.S. in Television, Radio & Film and is currently pursuing an M.F.A. from the American Film Institute Conservatory as a Screenwriting Fellow in Los Angeles, where she is now based.
As a driven, creative and open-minded person, Rebecca has the attitude that no task is too big or too small in the pursuit of completing a project. She strives for perfection, settles for excellence and was once told that she could run a small country with an iron fist and a smile.
