Rebecca Baruch is a Toronto-born, Los Angeles-based screenwriter who wishes she grew up in Narnia. That didn’t happen, so instead she writes authentic stories that are primarily YA-centric. Her work ranges from teen female-lead dramedies to dystopian fantasy, all with a touch of humor, empathy, and of course some magical realism - duh!
Rebecca earned her M.F.A. from the American Film Institute Conservatory where she was a Screenwriting Fellow.
Rebecca likes to keep a pulse on things. If you want to know anything pop culture, what’s happening with Gen-Z or what’s cheugy, she’s your go-to woman (if you don’t know what “cheugy” is, you definitely need her).
As a driven, creative and open-minded collaborator, Rebecca leads with the belief that no task is too big or too small, works both tirelessly and passionately, and strives for perfection (but she settles for excellence).
